DESCRIPTION OF ADSORBED VACCINES :
Sii Tetanus Toxoid is available as a sterile, turbid and uniform suspension of tetanus toxoid adsorbed on aluminium phosphate and suspended in isotonic solution of sodium chloride.

Each 0.5 ml of the vaccine contains:

Tetanus Toxoid                                                    5 Lf

Adsorbed on Aluminium Phosphate (AlPO4) 1.5 mg

Thiomersal   0.01 % as preservative

TETANUS ( lock jaw) INJECTION DOSAGE AND USES:
1. PERSONS WITH INJURY :
In case of injury or other cause 0.5 ml of the adsorbed vaccine must get administered immediately. The immunization history of subjects who have completed their course of priliminary immunizations with tetanus toxoidsor either have received a booster injection with in the period of 5 years are not recommended for the additional dose of tetanus vacine. 1500 IU of tetanus anti serum and 0.5 ml tetanus toxoid should be injected to the subject where the immunization history is not appropriate with different syringes and different sites of the body.

2. INFANT PROTECTION AGAINST TETANUS :
Preventing the neonatal from tetanus , Tetanus toxoids is given to the child bearing women. The injection is given to the pregnant women as early as in the pregnancy. In pregnancy after completion of the basic course, there is no additional dose required at least for the next 10 years.

TETANUS TOXOIDS INJECTION SIDE EFFECTS
Tetanus toxoid shot causes swelling, hives, and warmth redness on the site of injection. Fever, pain and nausea are also present.
TETANUS INJECTION STORAGE
Sii Tetanus Toxoid should be stored between 2°C and 8°C.
